DH and I always put $2.00 in the cards we send to our young grandchildren on holidays. This year, they'll get a surprise when they find that "Nanny" has folded their dollar bills into Valentine hearts.
Here is a link to Noreen's folding directions for the hearts at the Crafty Journal site. The directions are very easy to follow and each origami heart only took me a minute or two to fold. Stiff or new dollar bills will probably work best; I used a bone folder to press down my folds (not required).

Are these cute or what???
Now that my Valentines are almost ready to mail, I'm already looking forward to filling the grandchildren's Easter cards . . .
With these . . .Bunny Money!

And while I'm writing about cute "stuff" I've found on other blogs, how about this?
Last Saturday, I posted Got Keys? DIY Wallet Card Organizer on my blog. One of the commenters was Linda from another of my favorite blogs, Itsy Bits & Pieces. She had read my post and told me about her friend at Privet & Holly who makes these little "Card Keyper" kits and sells them on etsy. A little fancier that mine . . .
but really cute!
Now why didn't I think of that?

At Christmas I fold money into trees to put in cards. I also fold a bunch of $1 bills to use for tips. Usually I'll give them one folded bill and the rest of their tip unfolded. I bet you could use hearts for tips too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Betty, especially about folding tip money!
